Strong Chemistry Department Representation at ASP 2026 Biennial Meeting

The Chemistry Department had a strong and highly visible presence at the 2026 Biennial Meeting of the American Society for Photobiology, held May 16–19 in Scottsdale, Arizona. Faculty, postdoctoral scholars, and graduate students from the department contributed talks, posters, and leadership throughout the meeting.

  • Clemens Burda received the prestigious ASP Light Path Award and delivered two invited talks.
  • Carlos Crespo organized an outstanding session on Ultrafast Dynamics in Photobiology.
  • Tazrin Tonny and Rubej Khan presented posters supported by the Dunbar/Armentrout Graduate Travel Fellowship.
  • Tazrin Tonny was also honored with the Elsevier Bioinorganic Poster Award.
  • Resma Matthew, postdoctoral scholar in the Crespo group, presented a well-received oral talk.
  • Anna Samia also delivered a talk during the meeting.

It was wonderful to see such strong participation, leadership, and recognition from our department at this international conference, highlighting the breadth and impact of our research in photobiology.
