Recent Chemistry Department PhD graduate Desiree Prado, PhD (GRS ’26), of the Burda Lab, is featured in a new Case Western Reserve University story highlighting the James M. Galm Electrochemical Engineering & Energy Science research cluster. While pursuing her graduate studies in chemistry, Prado helped reactivate the university’s student chapter of The Electrochemical Society, creating opportunities for students to share research and support one another’s work.

Now a research associate at Case School of Engineering, Prado is part of the collaborative community that will help shape research in the university’s new Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Building. The story also highlights the contributions of Clemens Burda, professor of chemistry, whose work in optical laser spectroscopy is helping advance electrochemistry and battery research at Case Western Reserve.
