Chemistry Department Chair, Dr. Anna Samia, recently attended the Asian American Academy of Science and Engineering (AAASE) Summer Academy at Princeton University. The Summer Academy program was held from June 26 to July 1 and emboldens high school students interested in the fields of science and engineering to develop leadership skills, engage with interactive lectures, and receive mentoring from distinguished professors and leaders.
Alongside Dr. Samia is the program’s Distinguished Lecturer, the Honorable Charles F. Bolden Jr. Bolden is a retired U.S. Marine Corps Major General who has served as the former Administrator of NASA. He is also a renowned astronaut who has completed four Space Shuttle missions. During his time at NASA, Bolden oversaw the transition from the Space Shuttle system to a new era of exploration, focused on aeronautics technology development and the completion of the International Space Station in 2011.
