Zhongbo Zhang (’18) has been selected as one of six finalists of the 2018 Eastman Chemical Student Award. This award is a national student award established in 1985 by the Division of Polymeric Materials: Science and Engineering (a division of ACS). As one of the finalists, Zhang will present his work at the upcoming August National ACS meeting in Boston. After the meeting, the final winner will be decided.
Zhang’s dissertation, which he successfully defended and will be graduating this May, was entitled, “Understanding Ferroelectricity in Nylon Homopolymers and Random Copolymers”. He is honored to be in the final round and hopes to bring some publicity to the award, encouraging other students to apply.
